Unique Large-Format Wines and a Signed Bob Dylan Photo: Bid to Support Wine on Wheels!

Chris Lehoux, December 3, 2024

Until 11:45 p.m. ET on December 3—Giving Tuesday—wine lovers can bid on exclusive bottles of Burgundy, Beaujolais, Napa Cabernet, and more, with proceeds supporting a worthy cause. This auction is organized by Edouard Parinet of Château du Moulin-à-Vent, aimed at benefiting Wine on Wheels, a nonprofit founded by New York City sommelier Yannick Benjamin.

Benjamin, who co-founded the restaurant Contento and the wine shop Beaupierre Wines & Spirits, is a strong advocate for individuals with disabilities in the restaurant industry. Reflecting on the impact of the fundraiser, he expresses gratitude for the contributions received. He emphasized, “Every dollar raised represents an investment in breaking down barriers and proving that resilience and community can overcome any obstacle.”

This auction follows a fundraising dinner held in October at Chambers, a Tribeca restaurant owned by sommelier Pascaline Lepeltier, and coincides with the 100th anniversary of Château du Moulin-à-Vent. Wine on Wheels endeavors to help people with disabilities live fulfilling lives, sponsoring various programs related to education, wellness, and employment.

Parinet shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “I am driven by passion… This dinner and auction aims to combine our passions—wine and community support—to highlight Wine on Wheels and Château du Moulin-à-Vent’s legacy.”

The auction takes place on 32 Auctions and includes 15 lots valued between $400 and $1,500. Featured wines comprise premier cru Burgundy from Ghislaine Barthod (in magnum) and Henri Gouges (in double magnum), as well as rare Napa Valley reds, a vertical of Château du Moulin-à-Vent bottles from the 2022 vintage, and much more.

In addition to wine, the auction offers a vineyard tour at Santa Barbara’s Sandhi and a unique signed print of Bob Dylan taken by photographer Bob Gruen, furthering the event’s appeal.
