Maison Passerelle Debuts at Printemps in New York City: A New Landmark for Luxury Shopping

Chris Lehoux, April 17, 2025

The first U.S. location of the luxury French department store Printemps has opened in New York City, specifically within the historic Art Deco One Wall Street building. This new venue showcases a mix of shopping and dining experiences, featuring five dining options provided by Kent Hospitality Group, including the flagship restaurant, Maison Passerelle. This establishment is headed by Gregory Gourdet, a celebrated chef known for his accomplishments, including three James Beard awards.

Maison Passerelle offers a unique culinary experience that blends French cuisine with influences from various cultures, including West Africa, Vietnam, and the Caribbean. Gourdet’s menu includes dishes like West African spinach stew served with duck confit and a salad inspired by Vietnamese flavors, demonstrating his approach to fusing global culinary traditions.

One of the standout features of Printemps is its commitment to enhancing the shopping experience with a selection of wines available throughout the department store. Guests can enjoy a glass of wine—sparkling options are particularly available as wine carts traverse the store—while they shop, creating a more relaxed, enjoyable environment.

The wine program at Maison Passerelle presents around 250 labels, primarily focusing on classic French wines, including Champagne and selections from Burgundy and Bordeaux. There’s an aim to expand this list to about 600 bottles, ensuring there are options for every wine lover, regardless of budget.

Meanwhile, the restaurant Maple & Ash has opened a new location in Miami, expanding its renowned steakhouse concept known for its playful take on fine dining. This establishment offers signature dishes and a formidable wine list, which currently comprises about 450 labels. The new Miami location aims to cater to local wine preferences, emphasizing popular selections from South America and California.

The key takeaway from these openings is the evolving landscape of dining experiences that combine food, wine, and retail, with both establishments focusing on creating unique, engaging environments for patrons.
