Two New Orleans Hotel Restaurants Shine with Top Awards at Wine and Food Fest: Complete Winners List Inside!

Two New Orleans hotel restaurants have recently been honored with top awards at the 2025 New Orleans Wine and Food Experience’s (NOWFE) Culinary Awards. The awards were announced on Monday, recognizing the exceptional dishes crafted by chefs from Restaurant R’evolution and Jack Rose.

The executive director of NOWFE, Aimee Brown, expressed pride in New Orleans’ culinary talent, stating, "These chefs continue to elevate our city’s reputation as a global food destination." The winning dishes were selected based on taste, presentation, and creativity by a panel of judges.

Restaurant R’evolution’s chef de cuisine, Christopher Anderson, earned the Best in Show award in the savory category for his innovative corn mousse, which features a twist on the traditional Louisiana crawfish boil using andouille powder and potato purée. Meanwhile, Jack Rose’s pastry chef, Eka Soenarko, took home the honor in the sweet category with a dish called "Purple Rain," a delightful creation of ube tres leches, white miso, cream cheese Chantilly, and a purple ube bourbon tuile.

In addition to the top awards, 31 dishes from various New Orleans restaurants received accolades across nine different categories. A few notable mentions include:

  • Soups & Stews: Gold for sweet corn and black truffle cappuccino from Ralph’s on the Park.
  • Meat & Poultry (Pork): Gold awarded to both Jack Rose and Astor Crowne Plaza for their pork dishes.
  • Seafood (Hot): The gold went to Magasin for their pan-seared lemongrass & garlic branzino.
  • Desserts: Hyatt won gold for their "Berry First," a rosé champagne mousse dessert.

This year’s awards celebrated the versatile and rich culinary scene in New Orleans, showcasing the creativity and skills of its renowned chefs.
