Napa Valley’s Decoy Wine Named Exclusive Partner for Emmy Awards Season

When television’s biggest stars come together later this month for the Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, they will be sipping on wines from a local Napa Valley brand. Decoy, a label under the St. Helena-based Duckhorn Wine Portfolio, has been appointed as the official wine partner for the Television Academy’s 77th Emmy Awards season.

This new partnership, part of a multiyear agreement, means Decoy will serve as the exclusive wine brand at both this year’s and next year’s Emmy Awards.

Chanel Caplan, senior vice president of brand management at Duckhorn Portfolio, expressed excitement about the collaboration, describing it as “a transformative moment for Decoy.” She indicated that the partnership emerged from a strategy aimed at reaching audiences who draw inspiration from premium television. Caplan highlighted that aligning with the Emmys—a hub of creativity and storytelling—enables Decoy to connect authentically with consumers and situate the brand at the center of cultural conversations.

At the upcoming Creative Arts Emmy Awards on September 6 and 7, as well as the 77th Emmy Awards on September 14, guests will enjoy a selection of Decoy wines, including its Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. Additionally, Decoy wines will be featured at the accompanying Governors Galas.

Television Academy president and CEO Maury McIntyre also expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating that Decoy’s dedication to quality and creativity resonates with the spirit of the Emmys. He looks forward to celebrating excellence in television while offering guests exceptional wines.

Founded in 1985 and overseen by Sonoma County winemaker Dana Epperson, Decoy produces its award-winning wines from grapes grown in the Napa Valley, Alexander Valley, and Sonoma Coast regions.
