Frasca Owners to Shut Down Denver Wine Bar and Expand Tavernetta Operations Chris Lehoux, December 5, 2025 A beloved wine bar in Denver, Sunday Vinyl, is set to close at the end of the year to make way for an expansion of the Italian restaurant Tavernetta, owned by renowned sommelier Bobby Stuckey. Opened in 2019, Sunday Vinyl was inspired by Stuckey’s personal love of playing vinyl records at home and featured high-quality audio equipment that provided a unique experience for patrons. In a recent announcement, Stuckey shared that Sunday Vinyl will become a dedicated private event space for Tavernetta. This change is a response to the high demand for private event bookings, which have often resulted in turning guests away due to limited space. The last day of service at Sunday Vinyl will be New Year’s Eve, after which the venue will be renamed La Casina and will offer a private dining menu similar to that of Tavernetta. The original Sunday Vinyl concept, complete with its extensive record collection and sound system, will be relocated to Boulder, where Stuckey is actively searching for a new venue. The wine bar will also hold a wine sale, offering bottles at half price until it closes. Stuckey reflected on the significance of Sunday Vinyl, expressing pride in the community it fostered over nearly six years. The transformation aims to better accommodate the growing needs of Tavernetta’s clientele while hoping to recreate the beloved atmosphere of Sunday Vinyl in a new location.
