Bite into Summer: Celebrate Jaws and Shark Week with a Bold Wine Selection!

Chris Lehoux, July 21, 2025

This summer, as we celebrate the iconic film Jaws and the excitement of Shark Week, Juggernaut Wines has introduced a fitting wine choice. Their Chardonnay features a label that showcases a Great White Shark, making it an ideal accompaniment for shark-themed entertainment.

Launched in 2018 by the Bogle Family Wine Collection, Juggernaut Wines presents a portfolio that highlights different apex predators. The collection includes a Cabernet Sauvignon decorated with a lion and a Pinot Noir featuring an osprey. The Chardonnay, introduced in 2023, showcases the Great White Shark prominently on its label and retails for $16.

According to Jody Bogle, vice president of consumer relations for the Bogle Family Wine Collection, the shark was aptly chosen, as Great Whites are often found off the Sonoma Coast AVA, where the grapes for the Chardonnay are grown.

To mark the 50th anniversary of Jaws, Juggernaut teamed up with the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce to sponsor notable anniversary events like JAWS: The Afterparty and JAWS in Concert. The afterparty, held after a screening of National Geographic’s Jaws @ 50, featured Juggernaut as the official wine sponsor, serving their wines by the glass.

The concert included a special screening at the Winnetu Resort, with an orchestra performing the film’s score and a surprise appearance by actor Richard Dreyfuss. VIP attendees were treated to exclusive tastings at a dedicated Juggernaut wine bar.

In addition to these events, Juggernaut sponsored summer Jaws movie parties at Alamo Drafhouse Cinema locations across the country and at the Jane Pickens Theater in Newport, Rhode Island—the latter hosting annual screenings of the film.

Bogle noted that Juggernaut Wines are crafted from grapes grown in extreme conditions, driving the creation of wines with distinct character and complexity—echoing the themes illustrated in Jaws.

With the celebrations kicking off on June 20 and continuing through summer, audiences can watch Jaws streaming on Peacock. According to research, 78% of American adults have seen the film, with many likely revisiting it this season.

Alongside the film, Shark Week returns this Sunday on the Discovery Channel. Even though Juggernaut is not a sponsor for the event, their Chardonnay remains a delightful choice for those enjoying shark-themed viewing.

“Plus, popcorn and Chardonnay is a perfect pairing for movie night,” Bogle added.
