Costco has issued a recall for its Kirkland Signature Prosecco Valdobbiadene due to safety concerns around the bottles potentially shattering. The risk of "unopened bottles shattering, even when handled or not in use," prompted the recall, as stated in Costco’s notification.

The affected Prosecco bottles, identified by item number 1879870, were sold at Costco locations across several states between April 25 and August 26. The states included Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Safety Measures for Consumers

Costco members who have purchased this sparkling wine are advised to immediately dispose of the bottles. To mitigate safety risks, customers should wrap the unopened bottles in paper towels and place them in a plastic bag before disposal. Those with the recall notice can return to their local Costco for a full refund.
