Savoring Hope: Join Us for SDRI’s Taste of the Vine Experience Chris Lehoux, September 19, 2025 The Sansum Diabetes Research Institute (SDRI) is set to host its annual fundraising event, Taste of the Vine, on September 27. This gathering, expected to attract more than 300 attendees, celebrates unity, purpose, and advancements in diabetes research. The event will feature gourmet appetizers and tastings from 18 prominent vendors, including Paul Lato Wines and Grassini Family Vineyards. A seated dinner will be offered, prepared by duo catering and events, paired with wines from Paul Lato Wines. Attendees can also participate in a live auction and enjoy activities that highlight the community’s role in supporting SDRI’s mission. In the previous year, SDRI engaged over 600 participants in 18 clinical research studies, aided 112 women with diabetes-related pregnancy complications, and published 14 peer-reviewed articles. Elizabeth Thompson, CEO of SDRI, remarked that the advances from their Santa Barbara labs aim to transform the lives of millions affected by diabetes. She emphasized that the event symbolizes hope and collective support for ongoing research. All proceeds from Taste of the Vine will further SDRI’s innovative research efforts. The event is scheduled for September 27 from 4-8 p.m. at the Santa Barbara Historical Museum located at 136 East De la Guerra St. For more details, visit Sansum Diabetes Research Institute.
