‘Two Up Wine Down’: Celebrating Four Years of Wine and Community in Charlottesville Chris Lehoux, November 17, 2025 The fourth annual Two Up Wine Down event returned to Charlottesville last Saturday, converting the lawn of the Jefferson School City Center into a vibrant afternoon of celebrating Virginia wine, culture, and community connections. Hosted by The Veraison Project and Oenoverse, the event featured curated wine tastings, a DJ, and commentary from Virginia wine experts about the selections available. VIP ticket holders enjoyed early access and exclusive wine pours not available to general attendees. Co-organizer Reggie Leonard emphasized the event’s aim to promote accessibility in wine culture and to create a sense of community. “Usually wine is seen as this very fancy thing… but we wanted to have this in the city, in a place that is rooted in Charlottesville,” he explained. The event not only showcased Virginia’s expanding wine scene but also kicked off a weekend of related activities for guests to explore more about local wines and connect with curators and makers.
