Longtime Bay Area Wine Importer Expands with New Shop in Marin County Chris Lehoux, December 10, 2025 Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, a renowned East Bay importer and retailer of fine wines from France and Italy, is set to open a new location in Marin County on December 9, 2025. This marks the first new retail site for the company since its original store opened in Berkeley in 1972. The new shop, situated in the Marin Country Mart shopping center in Larkspur, aims to replicate the welcoming atmosphere of its Berkeley counterpart, encouraging customers to explore and enjoy the diverse offerings of French and Italian wines. President Dixon Brooke expressed excitement about connecting with the Marin community: “The Marin shop will have a very similar ethos to the Berkeley shop: a high-touch, friendly environment that helps our clients dive into the endless pleasures of French and Italian wine.” The new store spans 900 square feet, smaller than the Berkeley location, but is designed to promote wine discovery and browsing. Kermit Lynch is celebrated for carrying a wide range of wines, from affordable everyday options to rare collectibles. Wine club members will have the convenience of picking up their packages at either location or having them shipped directly to their homes. The store’s interior features design elements that reflect its European ties, including reclaimed limestone from the Rhône region, aimed at creating an inviting and exploratory shopping experience. Store hours will be Sunday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. About the Author: Chris Lehoux Meet Chris Lehoux, an experienced wine connoisseur and dedicated blogger with a deep passion for all things wine-related.
