Oxbow Wine and Cheese Merchant to Close Its Doors by Year-End: A Fond Farewell to a Local Favorite Chris Lehoux, December 18, 2025 The Oxbow Wine and Cheese Merchant, a beloved establishment located in the Oxbow Public Market in Napa, is set to close its doors by the end of 2025. Owner Peter Granoff has announced that the business will focus its resources on the Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant in San Francisco, which serves as the “mothership” for the Oxbow location. Since its opening in 2008, the Oxbow Wine and Cheese Merchant has become a popular destination for both locals and tourists, offering a diverse selection of cheeses, wines, and a wine bar. Granoff confirmed that there are currently no plans to relocate the Napa shop. Customers can continue to visit the merchant until December 31. It operates daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., with kitchen hours from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The transition to the Ferry Plaza location is expected to take place in spring 2026.
