Chris Lehoux, December 23, 2025

SUTTONS BAY, MI – Winter adventure enthusiasts can now explore the beauty of Northern Michigan while indulging in wine tastings through the newly enhanced Vine to Wine Snowshoe Tours. Grand Traverse Bike Tours has revamped their half-day excursions by adding two new winery stops, making snowy vineyard treks even more appealing.

Owner Nick Wierzba expressed excitement over the transformative winter landscape, stating, “Snow transforms this area into such a magical place. It’s like walking on clouds!” Participants will enjoy guided tours that take them through private vineyards and scenic orchard trails. Currently, these tours are scheduled for Saturday afternoons, running through February, between noon and 4 p.m. Tickets are priced at $79, which includes snowshoe and pole rental along with a catered hot lunch.

Booking is available on the Grand Traverse Bike Tours website or by calling (231) 421-6815.

Notable stops on this winter adventure include BluStone Vineyards and 45 North Winery, both renowned for their stunning views and exceptional wines. The tour features a guided journey through snow-covered vineyards, with 30-40 minutes of snowshoeing between each winery. Guests will experience breathtaking scenes of Leelanau County’s rolling orchards and vineyards.

Key details of the tour include:

  • BluStone Vineyard & Winery: Known for its beautiful, modern tasting room and a variety of estate-grown wines.
  • 45 North Winery: Offers a cozy atmosphere complemented by handcrafted wines and an epicurean lunch.

This guided snowshoe experience is exclusively for adults aged 21 and older, and ID verification will be required at each winery. Attendees are encouraged to dress warmly for winter conditions, as the tour includes a total of 2-2.5 hours of outdoor activity. For wine lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike, this unique combination of snowshoeing and wine tasting presents a delightful way to enjoy the winter landscape of Northern Michigan.
