Celebrating 50 Years of Change: Resorts World Sentosa Hosts Global Blind Tasting to Honor the Judgment of Paris

Fifty years after the transformative Judgment of Paris changed the wine world, Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) in Singapore will host the Judgement of Singapore, an international blind tasting. This event is set for October 2-4, 2026, during Singapore Wine Week, where a panel of judges will assess 24 wines—12 Chardonnays and 12 Cabernet Sauvignons—from leading producers without knowing their identities or origins.

Judging Panel and Event Details

The judging panel will be co-led by Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, former Editor-in-Chief of The Wine Advocate, and Ronan Sayburn MS, CEO of the Court of Master Sommeliers Europe. They will be joined by 13 other judges from various countries, all representing the global wine community.

The Judgement of Singapore aims to examine the evolution of wine styles over the past half-century rather than simply crowning a winner. Judges will evaluate wines based on various criteria, including balance, intensity, complexity, aging potential, and distinctiveness, with the identities of the wines kept hidden throughout the evaluation.

Significance of the Event

Soo Hoo Khoon Peng, Founder of Impeccable APAC and Park90, emphasized the shift in wine culture over the years, noting that wine is now part of global culture rather than an exclusive club. The event in Singapore reflects this evolution and serves as a platform for wine lovers to explore and appreciate quality wines without bias based on labels.

Singapore Wine Week 2026 Highlights

On October 4, the final day of the event, attendees can also look forward to the Fruits of the Vine Wine Fair, featuring around 300 diverse wines and educational masterclasses. Another highlight is The Grand Cellar Auction, where collectors can acquire rare vintages from renowned estates.
