Suspect Arrested for Breaking into Falls Church Store to Steal $3,000 Worth of Wine

An overnight burglary recently occurred at Dominion Wine and Beer in Falls Church, resulting in the theft of approximately $3,000 worth of wine. The suspect allegedly spent several hours gaining entry to the store, starting by smashing a window. Following this, they cut a hole in a wine cabinet and crawled through to access the interior.

According to store owner Arash Tafakor, the entire process took nearly three hours, but the actual theft was completed in about ten minutes. The suspect headed straight for the reserve fridge, taking two bottles of Dom Perignon first. Tafakor speculated that the suspect likely had previous knowledge of the store and was seeking specific rare wines, such as Domaine Romanee Conti Burgundy and Petrus Bordeaux, which were fortunately stored securely elsewhere.

After loading several bags with wine, the suspect made multiple trips to their vehicle. The stolen merchandise included a significant amount of wine, particularly an entire section of Cabernets.

Since the incident, repairs to the window have been made, and additional security measures, including window bars, have been installed to deter future break-ins. Currently, no description of the suspect has been provided, and the Falls Church Police Department is actively investigating the case.
