Findings indicated that individuals who consumed between one glass of red wine per week and less than half a glass daily were classified as light drinkers and experienced a 38% reduction in the risk of cardiovascular complications. Those who drank between half a glass and one glass each day were categorized as moderate drinkers and saw an impressive 50% decrease in risk. Notably, a strong connection was observed between moderate wine consumption and a reduced risk of heart attacks, particularly in men and diabetic patients. However, the study did reveal a caveat: participants with very high levels of tartaric acid, indicating heavy wine drinking, did not benefit from the same cardiovascular advantages as those drinking in moderation.
