Gretna Kicks Off Summer with Its Biggest Strawberry and Wine Festival Yet on Main Street!

Gretna is gearing up for its 10th Annual Strawberry and Wine Festival, set to commence on Saturday, May 10, just in time for the summer season and strawberry harvest. This year, the festival will be held on Main Street, making it the largest yet.

Dianna Burkholder, the festival chair, expressed excitement about highlighting local offerings, including Motley’s Strawberries, a renowned pick-your-own strawberry farm. The festival aims to celebrate not just strawberries but also the contributions of nearby wineries.

Attendees can expect an array of attractions, including 13 wineries, four food trucks, craft vendors, and live music, all set to run from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are available for non-wine tastings at $10, while wine tasting tickets can be purchased for $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Tickets are obtainable via the festival’s website or at various local retailers including Raymond James in Gretna and Miller’s Jewelry in Altavista.

This year’s event promises to be a delightful community gathering, celebrating the local culture and the vibrant flavors of summer.
