Monticello Wine Week: A Celebration of Local Winemakers and Regional Vintages Chris Lehoux, May 19, 2025 Monticello Wine Week is set to take place from June 5 to June 8, showcasing the exceptional wines, winemakers, and vineyards in the Charlottesville area. The week will include a series of events that celebrate the Monticello American Viticultural Area (AVA), covering locations in Charlottesville as well as the counties of Nelson, Orange, and Greene. Stephen Barnard, president of the Monticello Wine Trail and winemaker at Keswick Vineyards, expressed that this celebration allows both local residents and visitors to experience the dedication of the region’s winemakers. With the Monticello AVA gaining national recognition, this event promises to highlight the excellence and innovation of Virginia’s wine industry. Schedule of Events: June 5 – Winemaker Dinner on the Roof at The Doyle Participating wineries: Blenheim Vineyards, Eastwood Farm & Winery, Hark Vineyards, Horton Vineyards, Septenary, and Wisdom Oak Winery. Enjoy fine cuisine paired with top Monticello AVA wines at the Doyle Hotel rooftop. June 5 – Dinner at the Clifton Inn Participating wineries: Veritas, Afton Mountain, Keswick Vineyards, King Family Vineyards, Michael Shaps, and Pollak Vineyards & Jefferson Vineyards. An evening of great food and wine with good company. June 6 – Gold Medal Celebration and Monticello Cup Announcement at The Bradbury Taste wines from over 12 Monticello Wine Trail wineries, including the Cup winner. This highlight event in downtown Charlottesville will celebrate the top wines from the region. June 7 – Rosé Picnic Lunch at Afton Mountain Vineyards Participating wineries: Afton Mountain Vineyards, Chiswell, Hark, Hazy Mountain Vineyards, Jefferson Vineyards, King Family Vineyards, Lovingston, Stinson Vineyards, Trump Winery, Valley Road Vineyards, and Veritas. A stylish afternoon featuring curated food pairings, live music, and stunning vineyard views. June 8 – Sparkling Brunch at Veritas Farm & Winery Participating wineries: Afton Mountain Vineyards, Hazy Mountain Vineyards, King Family Vineyards, Michael Shaps, Stinson Vineyards.
