Laughs and Vines: The Wine Country Comedy Festival Hits Three Wineries in Just Three Days!

Chris Lehoux, July 16, 2025

The Seventh Annual Wine Country Comedy Festival is set to deliver three days of outdoor entertainment featuring nine comedians at three different wineries.

Scheduled for July 24-26, the festival starts each evening at 7 p.m. at Buena Vista Winery, Balleto Vineyards, and DeLoach Vineyards. Admission prices range from $42 for a single day to $105 for a three-day pass.

Organized by Lisa Pidge, who runs The Laugh Cellar: Powered by Crushers of Comedy, the festival aims to showcase a mix of observational comedy without a specific theme. Pidge’s production company also hosts numerous comedy shows at local wineries throughout the year. Each festival requires a year of planning, as Pidge books talent well in advance, often seeing many audience members return year after year.

This year’s lineup includes:

July 24 at Buena Vista Winery

  • Dr. Vien Phommachanh: A practicing ENT doctor and comedian from Florida, known for his work with various comedy tours.
  • Amanda Cohen: Los Angeles-based performer with a background in improv from top-tier comedy schools.
  • Solange Castro: A comic and playwright who regularly performs at The Westside Comedy Theater and will teach stand-up at Yale this fall.

July 25 at Balleto Vineyards

  • JJ Barrows: Comedian and author of comedic books, known for her headlining performances.
  • Lisa Gilbert: Based in San Diego, recognized for her work at The Comedy Store and a hit Dry Bar special.
  • Helen Chu: A comedian with an international background who performs frequently across California.

July 26 at DeLoach Vineyards

  • Chase O’Donnell: An actress and writer known for her podcast appearances and successful comedy special.
  • Aiko Tanaka: A Tokyo-born comedian and actress who has appeared in major media and was a semi-finalist on "America’s Got Talent."
  • Merrill Davis: An actor and writer named among Time Out’s Comics to Watch, known for her performances at various festivals and on popular podcasts.
