Top 5 Baton Rouge Restaurants with Stellar Wine Programs, According to National Magazine

Chris Lehoux, July 24, 2025

Recently, Baton Rouge has gained recognition in the wine scene as five local restaurants were awarded for their outstanding wine programs by Wine Spectator, a respected magazine focused on wine culture and ratings. The awards are categorized into three levels: Award of Excellence, Best of Award of Excellence, and Grand Award. This year, 46 restaurants from Louisiana, four more than the previous year, made it to the prestigious list.

Among the noteworthy restaurants, Mansurs on the Boulevard achieved the Best of Award of Excellence for the first time. This award highlights establishments with extensive wine lists that span multiple wine-producing regions and feature premier producers. Typically, these award-winning restaurants are known for their impressive selection, offering 350 or more wines, which appeal to discerning wine enthusiasts.

The other Baton Rouge restaurants recognized with the Award of Excellence include:

  • Bin 77 Bistro and Sidebar, 10111 Perkins Rowe
  • Tallulah Crafted Food and Wine Bar, 7000 Bluebonnet Blvd., inside Renaissance Hotel
  • Sullivan’s Steakhouse, 5252 Corporate Blvd.
  • The Gregory, 150 Third St., inside Watermark Hotel

Across the country, over 2,000 restaurants received the Award of Excellence, which mandates that establishments feature a minimum of 90 wine selections, an array of quality producers, and a wine pairing that complements their menu in both style and price.

Wine Spectator aims to showcase restaurants that curate a diverse selection, including multiple vintages and wines that align well with the cuisine offered.
