Savor the Sea: Discover Dana Point’s New Oceanview Wine Experience

Wine Experience Dana Point is set to open to the public on September 5, following a successful soft opening that allowed first access to wine club members and invited guests. Owner Michael Davis expressed his excitement about realizing this dream after years of searching for the perfect location for a new wine shop and tasting room.

Davis, who previously co-owned A Hidden Vine on the Lake in Mission Viejo, aspired to create a new space with an ocean view. After a lengthy search for a coastal site, he received a call from his real estate broker about a brand-new building in Dana Point. On a whim, he signed a letter of intent, and soon after, he partnered with wine enthusiasts Stephen Hines and Karla Clarke to launch Wine Experience Dana Point.

The venue combines elements of a wine bar, retail shop, and restaurant. Equipped with high-level wine stewards, it offers a selection of both well-known and unique varietals. Guests can purchase any bottle to enjoy on-site or choose from several wine-by-the-glass options using an innovative dispensing system that preserves the wine’s quality after it’s opened.

In addition, the shop features a diverse array of wines, from domestic classics to rare imports, and provides tasting opportunities with various pour options. Davis emphasized the quality of the selection, ensuring everything is personally tasted before being offered to customers.

To complement the wine, the menu includes a variety of cheese boards and charcuterie, along with more substantial dishes like braised short ribs. As the team prepares for the grand opening, they are excited to welcome guests to enjoy their wine and the ocean views.
