Cheers to Christmas: Discover the Flavourful Zest of Poco Vino’s New Single-Serve Wines

Chris Lehoux, November 21, 2025

The traditional wine bottle has been transformed with the introduction of Poco Vino, a series of vibrant, mini-sized wines that are set to make a splash this Christmas shopping season. Designed in the Netherlands, these bottles each hold 187ml—equivalent to one glass of wine—and resemble fashionable perfume bottles, making them easy to carry in a handbag or pocket.

Produced by Australian Vintage, a company that oversees multiple wineries such as McGuigan and Tempus Two, Poco Vino, which means "little wine," offers six different varieties. These include a refreshing Pinot Grigio with flavors of apple, pear, and nectarine; a Chardonnay bursting with peach and lemon; a zesty Sauvignon Blanc leaning toward tropical passionfruit; a rosé reminiscent of ripe strawberries; a robust Shiraz with dark fruits; and a soft Pinot Noir reflecting raspberries.

Targeting a younger, trend-driven audience, particularly Gen Z, Poco Vino aims to simplify the wine experience, making it less about traditions and more about enjoyment in line with contemporary lifestyles. Each bottle is priced affordably at approximately $6 to $7, aiming to appeal to a wide range of consumers during the festive season.

Interestingly, these attractive bottles were first introduced in the UK before reaching Australian shores, and they are anticipated to become popular gifts this holiday season. Alongside Poco Vino, new innovative wines such as the biodynamic Lowe Wines Vermentino are also gaining attention. This unique wine employs natural methods, utilizing ingredients like stinging nettles for vineyard protection.

In addition to these wines, unique offerings like Smokehead Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky have emerged, featuring a striking human skull on its label and a bold flavor profile characterized by smoky peat and sweet spice notes. As the holiday season approaches, both Poco Vino and novel beverages like Lowe Wines and Smokehead are set to capture the interest of wine enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike.
