Commonwealth Wine School Unveils Champagne Specialist Certification Weekend in Boston and San Francisco

Commonwealth Wine School has announced a Champagne Specialist Certification Intensive, set to take place in both Boston and San Francisco in May 2026. This certification, recognized by the Comité Champagne (CIVC), provides wine professionals and enthusiasts with a comprehensive weekend dedicated to the exploration of Champagne.

Participants will dive deep into the history, terroir, production methods, and stylistic diversity of Champagne. The course is designed to enhance analytical and sensory skills, enabling attendees to confidently evaluate and recommend various Champagnes.

The weekend includes:

  • Tastings of a wide array of Champagnes
  • Workshops on label interpretation and food pairing
  • Practical strategies for making informed recommendations in retail and hospitality scenarios

The program culminates with the Champagne Specialist certification, which significantly boosts both professional credibility and practical expertise.

    • Cambridge, MA at Commonwealth Wine School, May 15–17, 2026 (3-day intensive), Cost: $725
    • San Francisco, CA at San Francisco Wine School, May 16–17, 2026 (2-day intensive), Cost: $795

Prerequisites

Participants are encouraged to have the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines or equivalent experience, with mandatory completion of CIVC eLearning Levels 1 and 2 prior to attendance.
