This event will support Hawaiian Civic Clubs from Lahaina, Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego, focusing on fire recovery efforts. Participants will learn to create a crownless pāpale niu (coconut frond hat) under the guidance of master weavers Mario Siatris and U‘i Kahue. Attendees will also enjoy a selection of wines paired with Maui Kuʻia Estate Chocolate’s handcrafted treats amidst a picturesque sunset from the venue’s open-air pavilion. The Hawaiian Civic Club movement, established by Prince Kūhiō in 1918, is the oldest Native Hawaiian community organization committed to enhancing the welfare of Native Hawaiians and safeguarding cultural traditions. Tickets for the event are priced at $65, which includes materials for weaving and tastings.
