BOTTLE SHOTS | Celebrating Excellence: Seven Arkansas Eateries Honored with Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards

Chris Lehoux, July 2, 2025

In 1981, Wine Spectator introduced its Restaurant Awards to celebrate exceptional wine programs and wine lists globally. The awards are categorized into three tiers: the Award of Excellence, bestowed on restaurants with commendable wine lists that align with their cuisine; the Best of Award of Excellence for those offering extensive selections with superior presentation; and the Grand Award, the pinnacle of recognition for restaurants with outstanding wine programs featuring extensive vintage collections and remarkable service.

The awards have gained significant prestige over the years, motivating restaurants to enhance their wine offerings and provide staff education. Wine enthusiasts benefit from these awards as they serve as a guide to remarkable dining experiences worldwide. Annually, the program recognizes thousands of establishments, representing the ever-evolving wine and culinary landscape.

This past summer, the awards were announced, revealing 3,811 dining destinations recognized across all 50 states and over 80 countries. Seven restaurants in Arkansas received honors this year. Details about all the winners can be found in the Restaurant Awards issue of the magazine, which pays homage to the late Charlie Trotter, a Grand Award-winning chef, and will be available on July 15.
