Exciting New Bookstore-Wine Café to Open in NuLu as Part of Marketplace Expansion

Chris Lehoux, February 16, 2026

Louisville is set to welcome a new destination for book lovers and wine enthusiasts alike with the upcoming opening of Yer Mom’s Bookstore & Wine Café in the NuLu Marketplace North development on East Main Street. This unique combination of independent bookstore and wine café is anticipated to open its doors this spring.

In addition to a wide selection of books, the establishment will feature a co-working space known as Green House Work Space. The bookstore will operate daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Tara Leigh Goode, the co-founder of Fleur de Lis Communications and vice president of Strategic Partnerships for Climavision, is behind this venture. Goode, who holds a degree in English and creative writing, is returning to her roots in the literary world. She expressed her long-standing passion for art and communication, which she had nurtured alongside her career in technical fields. The bookstore café’s concept had been a dream of hers for quite some time, providing a necessary creative outlet from her intense work life.

The bookstore will also serve as a platform for community engagement, hosting author talks, readings, and events in collaboration with Louisville’s writing and publishing community. Goode noted the resurgence of indie bookstores in recent years and emphasized the importance of diversifying income streams with offerings like wine and café services to ensure sustainability.

To involve the community further, Goode is currently gathering suggestions through an online survey to help shape the bookstore’s inventory and offerings.

Yer Mom’s Bookstore and Wine Café will encompass approximately 3,000 square feet on the first floor of the NuLu Marketplace North, while the co-working space will occupy an additional 4,500 square feet above, featuring 11 private offices for individuals and small teams.

The NuLu Marketplace North development is envisioned as a tech hub, incorporating workspaces for tech companies, a podcast studio, and even extended stay housing, thus enhancing its appeal to the community.
