Tragedy Strikes: Forklift Operator Fatally Injured by Pallet of Wine in Windsor Warehouse Accident Chris Lehoux, April 4, 2025 A tragic incident occurred on Thursday afternoon at a wine storage facility in Windsor, where a pallet of wine crushed a forklift operator, resulting in his death. Emergency services responded to a call shortly after 12:59 p.m. at a building located on Shiloh Road. Upon arrival, they found the 40-year-old man already deceased. Windsor Police Sgt. Jason Little reported that the operator was using a forklift to maneuver around a stack of wine pallets, each weighing approximately 3,000 pounds. It is believed that as he attempted to inspect the forklift, it became wedged among the pallets, leading to a pallet falling on top of him. No witnesses were present during the incident, but the Sonoma County Coroner’s medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death. The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health will take the lead on the investigation. Currently, authorities do not suspect foul play in this unfortunate accident.
