Unforgettable Moments: Exploring the 2025 New York Wine Experience Together

Chris Lehoux, October 30, 2025

The 44th annual New York Wine Experience took place from October 16-18, 2025, at the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square, showcasing the power of wine to unite people across the globe in times of division. The event brought together over 4,000 guests, including wine consumers, winemakers, sommeliers, restaurateurs, chefs, and retailers, to celebrate wine and friendship through tastings, seminars, and presentations.

The experience kicked off with two evening Grand Tastings featuring 265 wines, all rated 90 points or higher by Wine Spectator editors. Guests relished the opportunity to explore various regions, with some following detailed plans while others opted for spontaneous discoveries. Notably, each booth was attended by a winemaker or owner, allowing attendees to engage directly with the creators of the wines.

The weekend also included 18 seminars where vintners shared their stories and passion for winemaking. The emphasis on connection and sharing was evident, as winemakers like Château Cheval Blanc’s Pierre-Olivier Clouet noted the importance of enjoying wine with others. Throughout the event, participants learned about the nuances of terroir from several renowned winemakers, including Michel Chapoutier, who demonstrated the impact of soil and location on wine characteristics.

In addition to tastings, the event served to honor outstanding contributions to the wine community, recognizing winners of the 2024 Wine Spectator Top 10 and the Grand Award in the Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards. The love of wine extended beyond celebration; all proceeds from the event benefit the Wine Spectator Scholarship Foundation, which has raised over $40 million to support education in hospitality and wine industries.

The Wine Experience not only highlighted wine’s role in forming connections but also reminded attendees that wine is more than just a beverage—it’s an avenue for creating memories and forging relationships. As expressed by renowned winemaker Giovanni Gaja, “Wine educates us to beauty and… unites us.” The event will return to New York City from October 22-24, 2026, continuing its legacy of fostering community through the passion for wine.
